Our Story
Uthereal started with a simple question: Why does so much AI fail in the real world?
João Carvalho, a machine learning PhD from ETH Zurich, spent years researching not just how to build AI, but why it breaks—why it hallucinates, why it can’t be trusted, and what it takes to make it reliable for real businesses. At the same time, Wael Abdelmalek, a former AWS architect, was helping global enterprises turn their hard-won expertise into production-ready AI. Again and again, he saw solutions fall short because they were too generic, too risky, or never truly captured what made each business unique.
